Hailed, raved and applauded for, Matthew J. Lorick is becoming one of the most saught after audio engineers of the century. Eccentric about his original compositions, Lorick has been called "masterful" and "innovative" for his use of complex rhythms on classical instruments. His main compositions have been heard in an array of indie and semi-commercial video games and projects. His style is described as creative and surprising, and has been in demand for most developers all over the Internet.

Lorick uses a powerful love for music and for the projects he works on to bring a high-quality sound to the table. Most recently, he also has began branching out to compose on percussive instruments, beginning with the publication of his multi-movement solo marimba piece, "Sky Garden" (2011).

Originally from Blythewood, South Carolina, Lorick began studying music at a young age, after watching his father create amazing sounds from the family's piano. He began choral studies which quickly progessed into learning the piano, however his main instrument of study, percussion, was taken up when he began high school. From there, Lorick quickly earned various awards and certificates during his high school tenure, and decided to continue his study at the collegate level.

He currently is seeking a degree in Music Performance from the University of Texas at Brownsville where he studies under Dr. Thomas Nevill and Mr. David Lopez. Lorick has also studied under Jason Frith, Jaye Ingram, Dacey Bell, Colin Brown, Brandon Arvay, and Mathew Smith. He has recently held positions teaching as the Director of Percussion Studies at Lakewood High School, in Sumter, SC, Indian Land High School in Fort Mill, SC, and at Richland Northeast High School.
In Columbia, SC, he currently lives with his girlfriend, Andrea, and their dog, Marley in Brownsville, Texas.
